Oil the handle of your axe with boiled linseed oil at least once a month for a year and then as needed.
Before each use inspect the axe thoroughly for any signs of damage or wear.
Make a habit of sharping your axe before each use. a dull axe is more dangerous than a sharp axe.
Avoid overstriking, and also be mindful of those around you, as well as the safety of them.
After use wipe away moisture ,dirt, or sap that accumulate on the handle or head. may cause rust to form.
When not using the tool store in a cool dry place and away from pets, children, wives, etc.
